Confidence.

I know it's been a few days, but a lot has been happening. My Instagram is growing and with each follower my confidence grows as well. This is both good and bad. Good because I feel good about myself. I feel beautiful. I feel like I can succeed and nothing can hold me back. But bad because my camera roll is full of selfies....haha. Small joke. I'm actually serious though. SO. MANY. SELFIES.

In all seriousness, this all terrifies me. I know with every photo I post I run the risk of being insulted or criticized or made fun of. And it's happened twice now. While it's all fun and games, I can't imagine what the insult count will be at with 1,500 followers or 3,000 or even 10,000 followers. It's a scary thought.

Here's my post on it.

I have NOTHING but respect for the ladies who tolerate so much more and worse than me. Seriously, TERRIFYING. I see comments that would make me cry on other people's photos. That's what comes with wanting to share this passion. And you know, I'm still learning. I expected negativity. I guess I've been doing so well and receiving such positive feedback that it came as a shock to finally be shot down. But I am only human. I get sick, my feelings get hurt, I get upset, and I doubt my confidence. This is all just a learning game.

Embracing the negativity. Even though I'm talking about it now, it's just something I wanted to shed light on. I'm over it. I respect the needs of others to mock or make fun of my looks publicly, but I know where I stand.
Sunday's makeup of the day. (Giveaway look #4!)

Up close make up look of the day.
Eyes: BH Cosmetics After Hours Party Girl palette. Cream on the brow bone and all over the eye, gold on the lid and under the eye, and the speckled black blended into the edge of the crease. Eyeliner is Kat Von D tattoo liner in Trooper and Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash. BH cosmetics eyebrow trio kit.
Lips: Colourpop Cosmetics Bichette 😍 with BH Cosmetics diamond series red shimmer shadow to highlight the inner lip. I also used Mac Cosmetics Burgundy lip liner to line the lips.
Shadow and lips are part of my giveaway prizes!

I love this look. So hey, while I'm at it, here's another selfie of confidence.

Side note: I'm really trying to work on lighting in my photos. You may notice some changes in what I post! But it's all for the better. My skin tones won't look as washed out. Want to see the difference?
Both front facing camera selfies and as you can see from the mirror in the background I'm in the same spot. No editing. Tricks. ;)

That's it for now. I wish I wasn't so behind on posting, but life is good and you can't blame me for not wanting to pull myself away from happiness, right? <3

Stress and giveaways.

WINNER WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER.

Wait, no. Not yet! Beautiful ladies and wonderful gents, I have reached my first milestone. I'm beyond happy and excited and kinda.... nervous (?)....is that even the right word?

Yes. Yes it is.

Do you know what I see when I see 500+ followers? I see a bunch of people who DO NOT KNOW ME personally and still like what I have to share. I see a bunch of people who share a love for makeup and things beautiful like me. That's crazy to me! I can't tell you enough how blessed I feel. Is that silly?

So much has happened this week. Lots of good stuff and a lot more stress than I could ask for. Ha. It can't be all play, right? That's why they say "work hard, play hard." I could not be more happy that tomorrow is Friday. I mean, I could cry about how happy I am! I have a lot of running to do and sleeping and makeup swatching and blogging.

Can someone yell at me whenever I slack and don't blog? Yes? Okay cool.

So I reached 500. Wooooooooow. YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!?!! GIVEAWAY. I'm beyond excited and happy and beyond myself with this giveaway. Let's have a look at the prize package.
All the items are brand new, but I have used them all myself and love my own. In fact, today's look included all the products being given away. Giveaway includes:
LASplashcosmetics Lip Couture in Ghoulish
BH Cosmetics Party Girl After Hours eyeshadow palette
NYC Cosmetics lip liner in Mauve and
Colourpop Cosmetics Lippie Stix in Bichette and Lumière

I don't know about my readers and followers, but I love these prizes! I think everyone deserves to try these brands. They're not very well known yet. Something about indie brands make me so happy. :)) BH Cosmetics isn't an indie brand though. They're just amazing. That After Hours Party Girl Palette is <33333

Today's look included lips from LASplash Lip Couture in Ghoulish.

Remember, this is a Lime Crime Cashmere dupe. I've swatches them side by side and the colors are nearly identical! These lippies have passed my running lipstick test with flying colors! The only thing I recommend is applying a coat of lip balm or Chapstick when out in the sun for long periods of time. It can be drying.
On the eyes I featured the BH Cosmetics palette.
Every color used is from the After Hours palette. The main 3 are from the diamond shades in the palette. THEY ARE SO PIGMENTED. I did use a primer, but trust me you don't really need it. They blend wonderfully too. And hey, I am STILL working on that. Haha. I love this look though. Side note, the mascara used here is my new Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash. Day one and I am in LOVE. I didn't even curl my lashes and look at them!
Complete look!

Some things coming up to talk about include the following:

LASplash Cosmetics lippies (FINALLY)
Colourpop Cosmetics lippies and eyeshadows
Benefit Cosmetics the works (HSN special)
Too Faced blushes

Happy Easter!

Undercover Boss, Friends, and organizing makeup. That's my Easter. Oh! And baskets of goodies!
His and hers. *heart eyes*

My basket consisted of 3 Milani blushes and 2 Milani bronzers and one Milani lippy. In addition, one mosaic Physicians Formula blush and one Physicians Formula bronzer/blush compact. My two Mac Is Beauty lippies and Maybelline's Lilac Rush lippie! Not to mention a million chocolates. Mmmmm. Yummy in the tummy.

His basket consisted of beard oils, Pomades, and beard balms. I'm always the worst gift giver. Lmao. Whoops.

I was going to take the time to go over a few different things from the week, but I kinda just want to talk about today! I stayed in bed watching Undercover boss then quickly started to organize my makeup while switching to Glee. I love Glee, but I'm so behind in the series. I'm sad/ glad it's over because now I can catch up completely. Anyway, I wanted to share my makeup collection with everyone!!!

So. My favorite makeup vlogger videos to watch are the ones where everyone shares their makeup collections. I just sit in awe and hope for the day my collection is as wonderful and beautiful as one of theirs. Let's begin now, shall we?
I'm going to start off with the fact that some of these photos aren't the best quality because when I marked them it reduced the image quality. *rolls eyes* That frustrates me. But whatever. Here we have lots of randoms. From the top to the bottom: tops I have my blushes and some bronzers, towards the center I have my primers and BB creams. And the bottom I have my Physician Formulas.
Next up we have my nail polish rack. I moved around my OPI polishes and added some of my perfumes and random samples I've received from Ipsy over the months. Bottom left you see my fake lashes and to the right of that you find my blush and bronzer compacts. Some of my lotions are on the far right.
Below this shelf I have more nail polishes.
More samples.
The middle shelf has all my nail art stuff. Glitters, decals, fine tip nail paints. I love this drawer. So so much!
To the right, in the middle I have more nail art stuff. More glitter, some gems of all shapes and sizes, and my nail tools and mani gear.
To the right of THAT drawer is my 5 tier organizer. I don't have a photo of the top drawer, it has my Kabuki brushes. Below are all my eye liners and pencils and below that are my mascaras, eye lash curler, and makeup sharpener.
Below my mascaras are my random lipsticks and below that are my lip glosses. I don't use lip glosses or butters as much so I keep them in a drawer.
Now we get to my favorites. My dresser/ makeup clutter. Yes, you may insert hearty eyes. ;)
My lipsticks. I lovvvve my lipstick collection. It's such a baby collection but it's MY baby collection. And I love and adore it. Oh, and as you can see there's my dirty fake beauty blenders. DON'T JUDGE ME. Just love me. K thx. I need another lipstick rack, but I've "exceeded my beauty budget" for this month/paycheck. Remember, I'm trying to be smart.
Moving along. WAIT OMG I'M SAD I JUST NOTICED I CROPPED MY BRUSHES. You can see them in my last photo. They're in my Minnie Mouse Statue of Liberty cup that I got from New York. *sigh* New Yorrrrrrk, New Yoooooooork. I miss it every day. Here we find my lip liners, eyeshadow palettes, and you can even sneak a peak at my OCC lip tars to the left of my monkey drawer. Btw, I've had that monkey drawer for 12 years. Maybe longer. I love it.
*Update. Here's the photo of my brushes and still boxed recent lippies. Colourpop, Mac, and Anastasia Beverly Hills.
To the right of my eye shadows I have my eye shadow drawer. Below are my pigments and loose powders. Middle drawer has my single baked eyeshadows. Top drawer has my mini palettes and more single shadows. They're somewhat disorganized right now. Just like my makeup life. Ha. Kidding!
Last is just my jewelry box above my shadow drawer. On top of my jewelry box are my favorite perfumes. Nothing special there.

So that's it. Just a small insight on what I'm working and playing with. I look forward to the day I can have my own beauty room!

Now let's get to today's look. I REALLY felt pretty. Maybe it's my growing confidence, but I'm happy with myself and my makeup looks.
From the front.
Profile.
Andddddd overall look.
Eyes: Too Faced Bonjour Summer palette. Sand Dollar on the brow bone, Chocolate Sun blended into the crease, Firefly over the eyelid. Sephora Pure White eye liner with Elizabeth Mott You're So Fine liquid liner in Glitterati. Mascara is Pür and eyebrows are BH Cosmetics trio kit in Dark.
Lips: Anastasia Beverl Hhills Liquid Lipstick in Sad Girl

So that's my Sunday. That's my Easter. Now I'm ready for a late Easter dinner! HAM, GET IN MA BELLYYY.

Hockey and lipsticks.

Trying to multitask here. I'm watching my team cling to that last hope of a playoff chance. C'mon Sharks!

It's been a very exciting week for Miss Running Lipstick Queen. I see so many changes in myself. Confidence. I've always been a confident person. I've always believed in myself. But having so many people believe in me too? It's crazy. It's not just one or two or family or close friends. It's a bunch of strangers I've never met. People I call my friends now. I couldn't be more blessed.

So I know it's been a few days since I've come around and I really need to stop that. I was sick though....so that's totally my excuse. Lemme tell you, I HATE being sick. I was so miserable. Just when I thought I felt better, there it was again. And I haven't worked out since Sunday. Fml. I need to step. It. Up. I mean, how the heck can I call myself "running lipstick queen" if I'm not even running? EXACTLY.

A couple things I'm trying to get serious about. First off, I'm trying to be financially smart about this adventure. So my secondary bank account, that I've been using mostly for my car payments, is now my "beauty account." I've bought quite a few things to keep me busy and get me started for at least a month this past week. So I will be holding off on an major purchases for the rest of April. I need to start tracking everything properly and looking for the best bargains there is.

Second, I'm officially prepared for my giveaway. I know my last blog I mentioned I had everything picked out, well now I have it all purchased. Here's a look.
I cannot stress this enough. These are NOT my photos. Again NOT MY PHOTOS. Not my swatches. Not my lips. Not my arms. Not my palette. The top left photo is, as marked, taken from @makeupbyjesi on Instagram. Top and bottom right are from Colourpop.com. And bottom left is from BH Cosmetics website. In addition to the above posted, I'm giving away my favorite lipliner NYX Mauve.

Thirdly, I've made my decision to begin blogging on or around my birthday. More than likely I'll be filming the day before and posting on my birthday. It's my evil way of getting my friends to watch my video. ;) In addition to this, at the end of this month in taking the first step to buying my first home. I know... CRAZY. I just have commitment issues, OKAY. In the long run this will benefit the future of my vlogging, right? I'm really excited to share this even bigger and exciting commitment as it takes place. And the best part? You're damn right I'm looking for a house with an extra room I can call my beauty room. <3333

Tuesday, as you recall, I received Mac Bao Bao Wan's Sunrise. It was super pretty. Well, Wednesday I received the Mac Philip Treacy Lippie Collection! I only ordered Hollywood Cerise and Cardinal because I already have No Faux Pas from the Heirloolm collection this last fall. My immediate reaction? OH. EM. GEE. HOLLYWOOD CERISE IS SO PRETTY. I was not expecting to fall in love. It's a vibrant pink with Violet undertones and a satin finish. I cannot tell you enough how gorgeous this color is! Let's have a look at both first.
Ooooooooh. Hearty eyessss. Right!?
Okay moving on. Presenting Mac Philip Treacy lippy in Hollywood Cerise.
Dos mijo! It's so beautiful. *hearty eyes emoji* *crying emoji* *heart emoji*
Do ya see it? Do ya love it? Do ya just OBSESS OVER IT LIKE ME? Yes. All of the above. But let's take a close up look at it with the tube up to the lips. You know me, always making sure to cover all aspects of lighting.
Still. So. Pretty. <333
Now here's them all with my face.
By the way, I definitely straightened my hair Wednesday. I felt so pretty! And we'll take a look at my make up of the day at the end of this post too! Next up, Mac Philip Treacy Lippy in Cardinal.
Because I don't have very many satin reds I really love this one. It's a very casual and cool red with some blue undertones. It's definitely an amazing day red.
Seriously, every time I like at my swatches I fall more and more in love. It's just such a pretty red. It might be similar to Mac Red. I'll have to do a side by side eventually.
Now that I think of it, it also reminds me of Too Faced Melted Velvet. Maybe? Yea? Amiwrong? Another swatch comparison for another day.
I loved this color on its own. I was wearing purple eyeshadow and I don't think they look well together. But that is my own personal opinion.

Now let's breakdown my makeup of the day.
I love this look. Then again, the more confident I get, the more I love ALL my looks. This is good to me.
Eyes: I used my BH Cosmetics Eyes on the 70's palette I used a shimmer purple on the crease, a Violet on the corner blended in, and white in the center of my eyelid. I used Elizabeth Mott's You're So Fine Glitterati liquid liner. This was my second day using Pür mascara. BH Cosmetics eyebrow trip kit in dark.
Lips: Mac's Flat Out Fabulous over OCC's Lydia lip liner. I did a very very light blend of them. I didn't want Lydia to completely overpower the prettiness of Flat Out Fabulous.

*We interrupt this blog to announce that the San Jose Sharks have win their 4th of 5 games!!!!! Yasssss.

Okay, so before I call it a night I wanted to talk really quick about Thursday. Thursday I received my "Full Lips" thingy. The thing that makes your lips more full? Anyways, I HATE IT. I'm a very patient person and I'm not a complete idiot so this thing can't be that difficult to figure out. I tried and tried and tried and failed. I even took a break and tried again. NOPE. Maybe the one I got is just too big? I don't know, but whatever the reason I hate it.

Coming up on my next blog, Mac Is Beauty's Silly and Real Doll. (And the story to go with it)

Until then, stay beautiful and curious. Because that's what's keeping you here and reading, amirite? <3333
